Print FAQ’s

If your question is not answered here, please contact us directly.

What type of paper do you use for the prints?

All prints are made using bamboo and cotton rag papers from Ilford and Hahnemühle.

Papers are lightly textured matte papers which produce brilliant colours and contrast and deep blacks, with a slightly warm undertone.

Papers used are museum grade, archival papers free of Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs), acid & lignin, This means prints wont prematurely yellow and fibres wont decay.

What is giclée printing?

It’s a type of inkjet printing using pigment inks which last longer than cheaper dye or solvent inks. Treated carefully these prints will last 75 years or more. Giclée is the highest quality printing method available today and is the standard used by galleries and museums.

You're based in Australia, but the prints are delivered from the UK/EU/USA. Why is that?

We work with leading fine art printers based in UK, EU, USA and Australia to fulfil orders worldwide.

This allows us to minimise production and shipping costs, offer more options such as framed prints and get your order to you quicker and safer.

That is why, depending on where you live your order will be shipped from the printer closest to you.

Our printer partners are carefully chosen for their commitment to quality and common values such as using sustainable business practices.

I’m not familiar with the sizes. What do they mean?

We appreciate different countries use different systems of measurement, so the below table is a guide to the sizes offered.

For framed prints the A size is the size of the print and the border. so the printed image itself is slightly smaller.

            Metric                     Imperial

A1 59.4 × 84.1 cm 23 2/5 × 33 1/10 in
A2        42.0 x 59.4 cm       16-1/2 x 23-3/8 in
A3        29.7 x 42.0 cm       11-3/4 x 16-1/2 in
A4        21.0 x 29.7 cm        8-1/4 x 11-3/4 in
